A devastating attack on a church in Delta State has left a community in shock and a pastor fighting for his life. Gunmen invaded Elyon Paradise Ministry Church in Asagba Ogwashi, Aniocha South Local Government Area, during a Friday night vigil, shooting the pastor and kidnapping six worshippers.
According to eyewitnesses who pleaded anonymity, the armed men stormed the church, rounded up six members, and took them away to an unknown location. The pastor, Apostle Divine Omodia, was shot and brutally injured, with two of his fingers severed.
The pastor was rushed to the hospital, where medical personnel are battling to save his life. As of Sunday, the kidnappers have not made any contact to demand a ransom for the release of the abducted victims.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the State Command, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident on Sunday, stating that a rescue team is currently tracking the suspects in the bush.
The attack has sent shockwaves through the community, leaving many in a state of fear and uncertainty. The police are urging anyone with information to come forward and assist in the rescue efforts.
