RIVERS STATE POLITICAL CRISIS: VERY DARK MAN URGES IJAWS TO STAND FIRM AGAINST IMPEACHMENT OF GOVERNOR SIM FUBARA

In a powerful statement that has caught the attention of political observers across Rivers State, the renowned human rights activist and voice of the common man, known as Very Dark Man, has expressed his deep concerns over the unfolding political crisis in the state. Very Dark Man, a steadfast advocate for justice and transparency, voiced his displeasure regarding ongoing efforts aimed at impeaching Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State.

Very Dark Man, whose activism has long centered on speaking out for the oppressed, particularly the marginalized, has called on the Ijaw people to stand resolute in their support for Governor Fubara. He warned that the impeachment of Fubara would send a dangerous message about the political strength of the Ijaw people in Nigeria. Drawing a parallel to the numerous impeachment attempts made against former President Goodluck Jonathan, Very Dark Man pointed out that these efforts, though unsuccessful, eventually led to Jonathan’s removal from office. He emphasized that such political maneuvers have weakened the Ijaw people’s position in national politics, undermining their influence in the country.

“The Ijaws must not allow themselves to be manipulated into endorsing the impeachment of Governor Fubara,” he declared. “If they do, it would show that we, as a people, are weak and incapable of standing our ground in Nigeria's political sphere. This is the same path that led to the eventual removal of Goodluck Jonathan from office after several impeachment attempts.”

Very Dark Man was adamant that no amount of political maneuvering, no matter how cleverly disguised as agreements, should be allowed to remove the Governor from office. He stressed that any such agreements, if passed, would be detrimental to the financial well-being of Rivers State. "Such agreements would not stand the test of financial scrutiny. They would not only undermine the financial stability of the state but would also erode the collective will of its people,” he asserted.

In his impassioned remarks, Very Dark Man also underscored the need for the people of Rivers State to remain vigilant in protecting their democratic rights. He urged them not to allow corrupt interests to hijack the state’s political process. "The finances of Rivers State belong to the people, and any attempt to destabilize the state under the guise of political agreements would be a betrayal of public trust," he said.

Additionally, Very Dark Man called on the youth of Rivers State to stay true to their principles and demand integrity from their leaders. He noted that, in a country plagued by corruption, the youth have a critical role to play in ensuring that justice prevails. "The youth of Rivers State must rise above personal interests and ensure that corruption is not promoted. We must speak the truth at all times and hold our leaders accountable," he urged.

Lamenting the current political climate, he stressed that the situation in Rivers State required strong leadership and clarity. "Sim Fubara is not just the Governor; he is the President of Rivers State. He must recognize the power he holds and use it to act decisively in the best interest of the people," Very Dark Man emphasized. "This is a crucial time for Rivers State, and it is up to us to protect its future from political instability."

The message from Very Dark Man has resonated deeply with many Rivers State citizens, who now find themselves questioning the motives behind the attempts to impeach Governor Fubara. As political tensions rise, the people of Rivers State are left wondering: Will they allow external pressures to destabilize their leadership, or will they stand united in defense of their democratic rights?

With the eyes of the state fixed firmly on these developments, the activist's call for unity, truth, and integrity has never been more timely. The future of Rivers State and its leadership hangs in the balance, and the coming days will reveal whether the people will rise to defend their governor or succumb to political forces seeking to disrupt their stability.
