NAOS WORLDWIDE APPEALS TO GOVERNOR OBOREVWORI FOR URGENT EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT IN ODIMODI

By Ogele John

Odimodi, Delta State – June 12, 2025

The National Association of Odimodi Students (NAOS Worldwide) has made a passionate appeal to the Executive Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, requesting urgent intervention to address critical educational challenges facing two public schools in the Odimodi Community, Burutu Local Government Area.

In an open letter dated June 12, 2025, and routed through the Chairman of Burutu LGA, Chief Hon. Julius Takeme, NAOS highlighted dire conditions at Eluwei Primary School and Odimodi Secondary School. According to the association, the schools are grappling with insufficient teaching staff, a lack of adequate furniture, and limited educational materials—issues they say are hindering the academic development of students.

The association, led by its National President, Comr. Bekebebedougha Eric Ogokeme, is appealing to the state government for:

1. The deployment of qualified teachers

2. Provision of desks and furniture

3. Donation of essential educational materials such as textbooks and notebooks

"Your support would greatly enhance the learning environment, boost student morale, and improve academic performance," the letter reads. "We believe that education is key to unlocking the potential of our community, and your assistance would be a significant step toward achieving this goal."

NAOS emphasized its confidence in Governor Oborevwori’s commitment to education and community development, urging swift action to prevent further deterioration of learning conditions in the community.

The letter was also copied to the Burutu Local Government Education Secretary, the Delta State Ministry of Education, and other relevant stakeholders.

For inquiries, NAOS has provided a contact number: 08162899228.

This appeal comes amid growing concerns over educational infrastructure in riverine and rural communities across Delta State.
