The National Union of Izon-Ibe Students (NUIS) Worldwide has extended its heartfelt congratulations to the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, as he marks his two-year anniversary in office.
In a statement made available to Nigeria Daily Chronicles, the National President of NUIS, Sen. Comr. Josiah Temeoweimienbi Precious, praised the Speaker’s impactful leadership and commended him for his role in sponsoring and supporting the recently passed House Bill aimed at mitigating the cost of house rent in Delta State.
According to Comr. Josiah, the legislation is a “bold and people-centered move” that directly addresses one of the pressing economic burdens faced by many residents, especially students and low-income earners in the state.
"The Speaker's proactive stance on rent regulation reflects a genuine commitment to the welfare of the people. This is the kind of leadership that builds legacies which outlive tenure,” the NUIS President stated.
He further lauded Rt. Hon. Guwor as a proud son of the Ijaw Nation whose dedication continues to serve as a source of pride and inspiration to millions of Ijaw students across the country.
"With over 10.9 million Izon-Ibe students under our umbrella, we want to publicly declare our unshakable support for Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor. Come rain or shine, we are with him," he added.
The Union urged the Speaker to continue championing progressive legislation that benefits the people and strengthens his legacy as a servant-leader in Delta State.
Rt. Hon. Guwor was elected Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly in 2023 and has since spearheaded several developmental and socially impactful bills.
