The National Union of Izon-Ibe Students (NUIS) Worldwide has extended warm and heartfelt birthday felicitations to the Governor-General of the Ijaw Nation and Executive Governor of Bayelsa State, His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri, as he marks another remarkable year of life, service, and statesmanship.

The Union’s message was conveyed through the 61st National President of NUIS, Senator Comrade Josiah Temeowemienbi Precious, in an official statement made available to the Nigeria Daily Chronicles on Tuesday.

Sen. Josiah, speaking on behalf of over 10.9 million Izon-Ibe students across the globe, described Governor Diri as “a father figure, a visionary leader, and a selfless trailblazer” whose unwavering commitment to the growth and well-being of Izon-Ibe students—both within and beyond the borders of Bayelsa State—remains unmatched.

“Governor Diri is not just the Executive Governor of Bayelsa State; he is the governor of all Ijaw sons and daughters, regardless of the state they hail from,” the NUIS President declared. “His Excellency has consistently looked beyond geographical boundaries and ethnic lines in his support for Izon-Ibe students. He has given scholarships, mentorship, and life-changing opportunities to students from Delta, Rivers, Ondo, Edo, and beyond, treating them all with the same fatherly love and compassion as he does his own.”

NUIS Worldwide acknowledged Governor Diri’s giant strides in the educational sector, describing him as a tireless advocate for youth empowerment, academic excellence, and human capital development. The Union praised his leadership style as one rooted in humility, inclusivity, and progress.

“Under his administration, the academic community in Bayelsa and the entire Ijaw Nation has experienced a renewed sense of hope. He has not only invested in infrastructure and scholarships but has also created platforms for the intellectual and leadership development of Ijaw students,” Sen. Josiah added.

The Union also offered prayers for the governor’s continued success, strength, and wisdom as he leads Bayelsa State and champions the cause of the Ijaw people at large.

Happy Birthday to His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri. May this special day be a reflection of the joy, peace, and prosperity you have brought into the lives of your people. May God bless you abundantly, guide your steps, and grant you many more fruitful years in good health and wisdom,” the statement read.

NUIS concluded by reaffirming its unwavering solidarity with Governor Diri’s administration and expressed hope that his enduring legacy of compassion, inclusiveness, and visionary leadership will continue to serve as an inspiration for generations of Ijaw youth.

Your Excellency, your legacy lives not only in the infrastructure you've built but in the lives you've touched and the futures you've transformed. We, the Izon-Ibe students, are proud to call you our own,” the Union affirmed.
